Who is Lorraine Lea?

This month Lorraine Lea turns 37 years young! But just who is Lorraine Lea?

Built on family values and entrepreneurial spirit, Lorraine Lea was founded in the backyard of Peter and Heather Ryan's south-east Melbourne home in 1986. The ‘Lorraine Lee’ is Heather’s favourite flower, and the inspiration behind the beautiful rose logo and company name!

There have been a few big changes over the years including moving into bigger spaces to suit the growing business, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the unique business opportunity Lorraine Lea provides. For many young Australians with growing families, the flexibility to work around their busy lives while still bringing in an income is their reason why.

We sat down with three fabulous Lorraine Lea 'linen chicks' this week to find out why they love running their own Lorraine Lea business and how it has impacted their lives for the better:

Why did you become a Lorraine Lea Stylist?

I started with Lorraine Lea in 2004. At the time I was a stay-at-home mum and had never been to any kind of party before. My kids were one and three years old, and I was looking for something that could help me earn around $50 per week to help pay for the groceries. I went to a party at my mother-in-law’s house and could see the linen was great quality and it looked like a bit of fun, so even though I didn’t think I’d be any good at it, I decided to jump in and give it a go. I was super shocked at my third ever party when I realised I had earned $350 in just 2.5 hours!

What difference has it made to yours / your family’s lives?

Deciding to give it a go turned out to be the best thing I’ve ever done! I’m still here today because it’s truly the best company and best product I could ever hope to work with. I now earn a LOT more than $50 per week and have heaps of fun doing it. I’ve made the most amazing friendships, been rewarded with incredible trips and bonuses, and have a lifestyle that is envied by many of my friends who have ‘real jobs’.  I’m living proof that you can start with no experience, no idea and low expectations and create a great business as a linen chick.

Why did you become a Lorraine Lea Stylist?

I was desperate for sheets and my Stylist could see my passion for linen, so we had a conversation and here I am!

What difference has it made to yours / your family’s lives?

The extra income has allowed my family to splash out on little extras like holidays and helps pay off any bills that the budget can't make!

Your favourite Lorraine Lea product and why?

The sheets! They go on easy, look fabulous, last forever, and actually stay put on the bed! My favourites are the NOOK Elayna, and Premium Percale.

Why did you become a Lorraine Lea Stylist?

I joined Lorraine Lea over 11 years ago - time flies when you are having fun!

I was a single mum of three little girls at the time, and just wanted to find something for myself that would work around my family. I didn’t want to have to miss out on anything!

My girls are older now, one with her own son, and I’m still here!

What difference has it made to yours / your family’s lives?

I love how Lorraine Lea has helped me with the extra things in life. It has helped me pay for our wedding and a holiday to Bali!

A Lorraine Lea Business can be whatever you want big or small, to help you pay for the little extras or the big luxuries. I have met so many amazing people along the way and Lorraine Lea have extensive support and training so I’ve never felt alone in my journey. It’s made a huge difference to my life!

Your favourite Lorraine Lea product and why?

My favourite product by far is the memory foam pillow because it gives me a great night’s sleep. I used to sleep with three pillows which wasn’t so good for my neck and back! I sleep so much better and take the travel sized memory foam pillow with me whenever I go away.
