If you have the space to do so, rearranging your furniture and switching up your layout can be the easiest way to make your home feel like a completely new space.

As the days get longer and warmer, it's time to bring your space back to life with a spring home refresh!

Forget expensive renovations and brand-new furniture; a few easy and affordable updates are all you need to brighten your home for the warmer months ahead.

Here are of favourite 6 ways to refresh your home for Spring:

Start with a Spring Clean
There's no better feeling than a clean and organised home. Selling and donating unwanted items leaves you with the perfect blank canvas. A clear canvas will help you to make way for new goodies to refresh your home for the new season.

TOP TIP: Tackle one room at a time to make the job less overwhelming. Writing a list and ticking off each task will also help keep you on track and ensure you achieve everything on your list.

Change your perspective
If you have the space to do so, rearranging your furniture and switching up your layout can be the easiest way to make your home feel like a completely new space. It can instantly change how you use the room and could be as simple as moving an armchair around, rotating your dining room table or switching your bed to face another direction.

TOP TIP: Connect with the outside by changing your layout to maximise your outdoor views for the Spring and Summer season.

Get that fresh sheet feeling
With warmer weather arriving on our doorstep comes the need to swap over our bedding to something a little lighter.

  • Bedding Refresh
How long has it been since you replaced your pillow?
Spring is the ideal time to change over older items that need to be replaced. We spend almost a third of our lives in bed, which means an accumulation of dead skin, dirt, oil, and dust mites are more than likely starting to build up inside your bedding. Apart from sounding gross, this build-up can lead to skin irritations and aggravate asthma and allergies!
  • A lighter option
It's time to swap over your warmer sheets like flannelette to something more breathable like Supima Cotton or Cotton.

You might also like to switch out your quilt for something less heavy. Wool is a perfect choice here as it's an allergy-friendly natural fibre that helps regulate your body temperature while you rest!

TOP TIP: Wash or dry-clean all of your winter bedding before packing them all away so that they're ready for when winter rolls around again. You'd be surprised how much of a difference simply airing out your bedding in the shade on a breezy day can make!

  • Consider quilted
Quilted quilt covers are made from naturally absorbent and breathable cotton fabric.

Because of the raised surfaces of the cotton weave, airflow is increased, making them more breathable than a standard quilt cover. They also have a much larger surface area, meaning they're more absorbent, keeping you dry and comfortable during those sweaty summer months. As they're thick enough to be used as a blanket on their own, they are the perfect option for hot weather. Simply take your quilt out of your quilt cover and use just the cover by itself!

Remove the layers
Chunky Knits and thick plush rugs are perfect for making your home extra cosy during the cooler months, but it's time to switch them out for lighter materials for Spring and Summer.

A jute rug is a perfect option here, as well as a light throw like Willow and colourful cushions like Cadence. They will add a pop of colour to your living space for a vibrant feel. Swapping out your accessories will give your home a new colour palette and give you the chance to have your thicker throws washed and ready for when it turns chilly again.

TOP TIP: If you're one to get a little chilly at night, no matter the weather, consider adding a woven storage basket to your living space for easy access to something a little cosier.

Outdoor living
Dreaming of cocktails in the sun or simply sipping your morning coffee on the balcony before getting into your day? Then you better add sprucing up your outdoor space to your Spring refresh list!

Now is a great time to start a little veggie or herb garden if you have a bit of a green thumb. For a balcony, hang plants from the wall or use a bar cart filled with pots to plant some fresh herbs.

Add fairy lights or a fire pit for a gorgeous nighttime glow, some colourful outdoor cushions and table accessories, and all that will be left to do is send out an invite to your family and friends for a barbeque!

The finishing touch
Once your space has been revitalised with the basics, it's time to add the finishing touches:

  • Add your favourite candles and diffusers around your house with lighter floral or fresh-smelling scents. Lilies, lemon and fresh linen are perfect for the warmer months, whereas cinnamon, vanilla and coffee scents can be put away for a rainy day in May!
  • Bring the outdoors in by adding fresh foliage and florals to your favourite vases, or invest in some indoor plants in cute little pots.
  • Swap out your décor pieces! Accessories can be an affordable way to change the look and feel of your space in a single day.
  • Swap out darker kitchen accessories for something lighter, like our Ambrosia range, and add a new cookbook to your shelf to switch up your recipe repertoire.
  • Music is a great way to reinforce the feeling you're trying to create in your home – mix up your playlist with some new tunes and let the good times roll.
