Sunshine Coast-based Independent Stylist, Cassie, shares some of her home decorating tips for autumn.
The cooler weather is a great excuse to change-up your existing accessories and get creative with home decorating.
I love this season’s moody colour palette of mustard yellow, steely greys, prune and teal tones. The Lorraine Lea autumn range offers a variety of décor pieces for the whole house, so it’s easy to take your colour scheme from one room into the next.
Autumn is the time we start thinking about layers, so don't be afraid to experiment with cushions, rugs and throws in different fabrics and textures. A chunky knitted throw is a great accessory for the couch or bed, and it also provides that extra bit of warmth on chilly nights.
Tassel embellishments are very popular right now, and styling with something like the Trentham throw rug adds that extra bit of textural interest.
Velvet is another huge trend for the season. Tactile fabrics like velvet and faux fur can be worked in with your existing decor to give your rooms depth and create that cosy and inviting vibe.
Updating smaller accessories like vases, lamps and wall hangings each season is an easy and cost-effective way to keep your home looking on-trend.
I’ve always loved home decorating, but never imagined I could make a career out of it. It wasn’t until a friend invited me to a Lorraine Lea home styling party that I realised becoming an Independent Stylist was a viable option.
I was impressed by the quality of the product and enjoyed being able to see and touch the linens, towels and decorator items before I bought them. I couldn’t believe it when the Stylist said she’d earned $200 by running the party, and that anyone can hold Lorraine Lea parties to earn some extra income.
I jumped at the opportunity as it offered me the flexibility to choose my own hours and be a stay-at-home mum for my two kids.
I’ve now been an Independent Stylist for seven years and make a six-figure income doing something I truly love. If you enjoy beautifying your home, why not consider hosting a Lorraine Lea home styling party or becoming an Independent Stylist like me?
